Fall Cocktail Part 3: Spiked Hot Apple Cider

Today’s post marks the third installment of the Fall Cocktail series featuring Apple Cider and it is a hot one! I probably should have come up with a more creative name, but for now, Spiked Hot Apple Cider it is. Did you miss the first two drink recipes? Don’t work, click HERE for Cider Mimosas and HERE to read about Cider Geniever. Okay, ready for a drink to help keep you warm in the cold months ahead?

Spiked Hot Apple Cider:
10 oz. of Apple Cider
1 tsp. Maple Syrup
1/4 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
2 oz. Rum
Mix the cider, maple syrup and cinnamon in a sauce pan and heat until hot. Add the rum, mix and pour into a standard sized mug. Garnish with a cinnamon stick (optional).
* This is also good poured over ice and cooled instead of serving it hot.
I try to include cinnamon in as many drink recipes as I can due to the natural anti-inflamatory qualities of the spice. Plus, cinnamon is delicious and I like the smell. I am not sure how much it helps, but it certainly can’t hurt. Cheers!
